FNI has over 30 years of experience working with healthy foods and beverages.   In addition to cocoa and chocolate, we have experience and are currently engaged with the Berry Industry and with a Tree Nut crop.  Dr. Stuart has developed the world's first commercial peanut with more stable oil--the so called high oleic peaunt which has more monounsaturated fat than olive oil.  He has had years of experience with tree nuts including almonds, macadamias, cashews and hazelnuts.

Confectionery products often include nuts which compliment the flavor of chocolate. In fact, about 25% of peanuts and 25% of almonds grown go into candy and confections.  But, for a variety of reasons, these nuts need special processing if used for confections, or they may quickly develop objectionable flavors. FNI has considerable expertise in extending the shelf life of confections made with nuts.

Another class of foods FNI is engaged with are the North American berries noted above.  It turns out Americans consume about half the recommended fruit. Berries are an excellent fruit to help make up that difference.

other plant extracts and purified ingredients that improve health

FNI has over 28 years of experience with plant bionutrients, with a special emphasis on plant polyphenols. Sources of these compounds include grapes, citrus, berries, apples and related stone fruits, tea and cocoa -- all containing high levels of polyphenols. FNI has experience with the raw materials, but also with powders and semi-purified compounds.  These ingredients help formulate health-specific supplements.
